Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Text entered into a search tool is delivered to the third-party company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be retained so a reply can be provided. It is not shared outside the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Servers and service providers may receive routine technical details when a page loads:
- Device IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device class and operating system
- Visited pages and time spent
- Referring site, when supplied
- Date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics services help measure traffic, popular pages, and site performance. Browser controls can block cookies, though doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and submitted data is used only for the limited operating purposes described here.
- Operate, secure, and improve the site
- Route a search to the selected partner
- Measure use and page performance
- Find and correct technical faults
- Detect misuse and meet legal obligations
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site does not maintain Schoolcraft County court files, sheriff reports, jail records, ICHAT histories, OTIS profiles, or Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry files. Those records stay with the Clerk/Register of Deeds, the Schoolcraft County Sheriff’s Department and Jail, Michigan State Police CJIC, MDOC, and other originating offices. No visitor data is assembled into a consumer report.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is handled under that company’s privacy policy, retention terms, and sharing rules. Review those terms before running a query because this policy does not govern a partner’s systems.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Schoolcraft County government, MiCOURT, Michigan State Police, MDOC, registry pages, or other services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Advertising providers may also use their own technology to measure activity or select ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited data may be available to:
- Search partners processing a submitted query
- Analytics and hosting providers supporting site operation
- Advertising networks serving site advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for data under the site’s control. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, so an absolute promise against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access is not made.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor may be removed when appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law that applies to a person and request. Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., governs access to records of Michigan public bodies; it does not turn this private site into a public agency. Michigan’s criminal-record and registry dissemination rules, including MCL 28.728 for public registry information, govern the official agencies that release those records. Subject to applicable law, a person may:
- Request access to personal information held by the site
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion when the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where a legal right applies
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change as practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes effective when posted with a new effective date.
